About this course

 

In the context of hiring, assessing the results of a background check is also known as an 'Individualized Assessment.' Properly conducting an Individualized Assessment is enforced by the EEOC to ensure fair hiring practices. The EEOC provides some clear guidelines for assessing a background check, and, in some jurisdictions there is an additional requirement for documenting the process.   

 

This course is designed to meet you where you are:

  1. Start by determining what you already know by taking a short self-assessment
  2. Target only those topics where you have gaps in your knowledge (or, complete it)
  3. Complete interactive lessons on each topic area
  4. Confirm your new knowledge with a scenario-based Check for Understanding

Here, you'll learn how to:

  • Read and interpret the information in a background check report
  • Determine why you may or may not see certain information in a report
  • Assess charges in a background report and use Checkr's individualized assessment tools
  • Comply with the EEOC's guidelines and other individualized assessment law"
