Background

Fair assessment responsibilities stem from federal, state, and municipal fair hiring laws. In 2012, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), under title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, issued guidelines advising employers to consider the specifics of each candidate who may be denied employment based on a background check.

In this 1 hour course, you will learn

  • What it takes to fairly assess a candidate's background check in compliance with EEOC standards.
  • How to navigate different types of screenings.
  • Your responsibilities during the Adverse Action process according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act as governed by the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
  • What steps to take to implement fair assessment processes in your organization.
